Maine Climate Council Natural & Working Lands Working Group

Date: , -

Meeting Type: Virtual Only

Meeting Agenda:

The Governor’s Office of Policy Innovation and the Future’s (GOPIF) has contracted with a team at the University of Maine Mitchell Center. The Mitchell Center will be supporting Work Groups in the following ways:

  1. Help Working Groups hear more from priority populations throughout the working group process;
  2. Provide guidance and learning opportunities to help Working Groups incorporate input from priority populations into updated recommendations; and
  3. Support Working Group members who are from priority populations with financial reimbursement for travel and other expenses related to Working Group participation.

The Mitchell Center team will work with partner organizations to facilitate conversations with priority populations in February and March. These conversations will inform the recommendations that each Working Group puts forth by the end of May. The January 30th meeting will be an opportunity to meet with a member of the Mitchell team, Dr. Linda Silka. Dr. Silka will be joined by two student assistants, Louise Chaplin and Catherine Mardosa.

The purpose of this conversation is:

  • To introduce the NWL Working Group to the Mitchell Center and its scope of work; and
  • To discuss an outreach plan specific to the NWL Working Group, and to gather feedback from WG members – and Subgroup members - on priority populations that the group needs to hear from, and specific topics or questions that you hope to receive input on.
